a retro twist then The Shelter cabins at Outbuildings Dorset are for you
You’ll find Shelter 1 and Shelter 2 a short walk away from The Cart Shed in a peachy setting slightly apart from the main heart of Outbuildings. Although they share the same name, both Shelter 1 and Shelter 2 stand alone with private entrances and individual terraces - so there’s no need to worry about other guests disturbing your downtime.
Each luxury cabin has been deliberately positioned to face the rolling hills of West Dorset. Better still, they both come with floor-to-ceiling glass doors, fronting the master bedroom and bathroom, that slide all the way open.
It means sweeping countryside views and fresh countryside air day or night from your bed or the showstopping circular bathtub (with bubbles and jets) in your ensuite.
Expect bespoke 70s’ glamour with our signature Outbuildings’ twist inside each cabin: ruched velvet headboards, fluted dark oak wood panelling, glass chandeliers and a rich, opulent colour palette that’s different in each cabin.

Dressed with a 100% natural wool and hypoallergenic Devon Duvet and 400 thread count 100% cotton sheets and pillowcases. In-built side tables with handpainted glass hanging lights and digital radio. Handmade double wardrobe with wooden hangers and bespoke built dressing table with drawer storage, vanity mirror and hairdryer. Smart TV and underfloor heating.

Stunning freestanding brass bath tub, complete with water jets, handmade by local Dorset supplier William Holland. Suitable for two adults. Bespoke taps, including our quirky bull’s head tap by Francone Bespoke Taps. Plus, roomy walk-in rainfall shower, with an in-shower ‘bench’, and complimentary Outbuildings toiletries, large fluffy towels and stylish bathrobes. Beautifully hand-upholstered classic Ercol sofa for two people with handmade velvet cushions set in front of the bed for uninterrupted views out over the terrace and fields. Large coffee table for books and drinks set near a log-burner that comes complete with logs, kindling, and firelighters. Small corner kitchenette - not suitable for self-catering - with a sink, kettle, coffee machine, cups, glasses and cutlery.

Private and sheltered south-facing terrace, with antique rose tiles and a comfy bistro table and chairs set for two. Simply slide back the glass doors, take a seat - and make eyes with Dorset’s lovely landscape. On a clear day, you may even see the sea.
Good To Know
Both the Shelter 1 and Shelter 2 welcome one dog per cabin but are not suitable for babies and children. They are also not suitable for self-catering but you can order room service or visit our on-site bar and lounge, The Cart Shed, serving delicious local food and drink. Check-in is at 4:00 pm, check-out is at 11:00 am. You can cancel up to 14 days before your stay for a full refund. Please see our full cancellation policy here.
